Case Study Design Service
Case Study Design Service
A case study is often the last thing a buyer reads before they contact you. We interview your customer, write the story with real detail, and design it as a PDF or web page that is easy to skim and easy to share.
- Writer and designer on the same in-house team
- Customer interview handled for you if you want
- Print, PDF and web versions available
- Revisions included until the brief is met
The problem
Why most case studies do not get read
Most case studies are written by the company about itself. They open with the company's history, describe the product at length and end with a vague line about a "great partnership". A buyer looking for proof that you can solve their problem gives up by the second paragraph.
The case studies that work are about the customer. They describe a specific situation the reader recognises, show what was tried and what changed, and include the detail that makes it believable: the timeline, the numbers the customer agreed to share, and the customer's own words.
Design matters just as much. Buyers skim first. A clear headline result, a short summary box and pull quotes let someone get the story in thirty seconds and decide whether to read the full version.
What we deliver
What our case study service covers
Customer interview
We prepare the questions and run the call with your customer, or work from notes and recordings you supply.
Story and structure
Challenge, approach, result: written in plain language, with the customer's words used where they are stronger than ours.
Layout and design
A summary box, headline results, pull quotes and charts where the data supports them, in your brand style.
Formats
A designed PDF for sales teams and email, a web page version for your site, and short excerpts for social posts.
Approval support
A clean draft your customer can review and sign off, with any figures they want removed taken out before design.
Series templates
If you plan several case studies, a reusable layout so each new one matches the set.

How it works
Our case study writing and design process
1. Brief and access
Tell us the customer, the project and who the case study is for. Introduce us to the customer contact if we are running the interview.
2. Interview and outline
We interview the customer, then send an outline and proposed headline result for your approval.
3. Draft and sign-off
The written draft goes to you, then to your customer for approval. We finalise the words before design starts.
4. Design and delivery
We lay out the approved copy, revise until the brief is met and deliver PDF, web and source files.
Checklist
What a strong case study includes
We check every draft against this list before it goes to design.
- A headline that states the result, not the company name
- A short summary a busy reader can take in at a glance
- A customer situation specific enough for similar buyers to recognise
- What was done, in steps, without product jargon
- Results the customer has agreed to share, with timeframes
- At least one direct quote from the customer
- A clear next step for a reader in the same situation
Honest limits
What we need from you
A case study is only as strong as the facts behind it. We need a customer willing to talk, or at least to review and approve the draft, and any figures you want to publish need to come from you or the customer. We will not invent results or quotes, and we will tell you if the story is too thin to support the claims you want to make.
Customer approval is usually the slowest step. Building it into the schedule from the start keeps the project moving.
Pricing
What a case study costs
Case studies are quoted per project. The price depends on whether we run the customer interview, the length of the finished piece, how many formats you need and how much data has to be turned into charts. You receive a fixed quote and timeline before work starts.
If you only need the design, because the case study is already written, or only the writing, we quote that separately.

Questions about case study design
Still unsure about something? Talk to a specialist — no script, no sales pitch.
Yes. We prepare the questions with you, schedule the call with your customer and record it with their permission. Customers often speak more freely to a neutral writer than to their account manager, which tends to produce better quotes and more useful detail for the story.
Most business case studies work well at one to two designed pages, often around 500 to 1,000 words, with a short summary at the top. Complex technical projects can run longer. We recommend the length based on who will read it and where it will be used.
Both, or either. Most clients order the full service because writing and design affect each other: a strong headline result changes the layout, and a good layout needs copy written to fit it. If you already have the text, we can design it as it stands or edit it first.
That is common. A case study can still work by describing the problem precisely, explaining what changed in operational terms, and using the customer's own words about the outcome. We will suggest how to make the story convincing without figures the customer has not approved.
Usually a designed PDF for email and sales meetings, a web page version for your site and short excerpts for social media. We can also prepare a print version or slides. You receive the editable source files so you can update details later.
The writing and design are usually the quick part. The schedule depends mostly on how soon your customer can do the interview and approve the draft. We quote a timeline with the project and keep you updated at each stage.
