Keyword Research

Keyword Research Services

A list of keywords is not a strategy. What you need is which ones you can win, which ones are worth winning, and what to publish first.

  • Delivered by an in-house team, never subcontracted
  • A prioritised plan, not an unsorted export
  • Terms we think you cannot win are named as such
  • No lock-in contract on standard services

The problem

Most keyword research is a spreadsheet nobody acts on

The standard deliverable is a few thousand rows exported from a tool, sorted by volume. It is not wrong, it is unusable — because the decision a business actually needs to make is what to publish next month, and a list of three thousand terms does not answer that.

Two things are almost always missing. The first is difficulty judged against your site rather than in the abstract: a term is not realistic because a tool scored it 34, it is realistic because of who currently ranks and what your domain can plausibly compete with.

The second is commercial relevance. High-volume terms are frequently searched by people who will never buy — students, competitors, and job seekers — and a plan built on volume alone reliably produces traffic that converts at zero.

What you get

What the research delivers

A document you can hand to a writer, not a raw export.

  • Terms grouped by the intent behind them, because one page should serve one need
  • A realistic verdict on each group given your domain, not a generic difficulty score
  • The commercial value of each group stated, including the ones worth ignoring
  • Which existing pages already cover a group, so you do not compete with yourself
  • A publishing order — what to write first, and why that one
  • The queries you already get impressions for and are close to ranking on
  • Terms we would not chase, named, with the reason

How it works

From site to plan

1. What you sell and to whom

Research that starts in a keyword tool produces topics with traffic and no commercial relevance. We start with the services and the buyer.

2. What you already have

Your existing pages and your Search Console data. Pages already earning impressions on the second page are usually the fastest wins on the whole site.

3. The competitive picture

Who ranks for each group now, what format those pages take, and whether there is a realistic gap. This is the step that decides what is achievable.

4. Grouping and prioritising

Terms clustered by intent, then ordered by what you can win soonest against what is worth most. Both matter; either alone gives a bad plan.

5. The plan

Delivered as a document a writer can work from — page by page, with the intent, the terms and the reason each one is on the list.

Honest limits

What research cannot do

It cannot make a new domain rank for a competitive commercial term. Where that is the situation, the useful output is a plan that builds coverage on reachable queries first, and we will say so plainly rather than selling a plan we know will not move.

It also cannot substitute for the pages themselves. Research tells you what to write; it does not write it, and a plan that sits unactioned returns nothing. If you have no capacity to publish against it, that is worth knowing before you commission the research rather than after.

And search volume figures from every tool on the market are estimates. We use them for relative comparison, not as forecasts, and we will not build a traffic projection on them.

Pricing

What it costs

Keyword research is quoted per site rather than per keyword, because the work scales with how many services you sell and how much you have already published, not with the size of the list.

A single-service business with a small site is a straightforward piece of work. A site with eighty service pages and three years of blog content takes longer, mostly in working out what you already own so the plan does not tell you to write pages you have.

Send the site and the services you want to grow, and you will get a real figure.

Questions

Questions about keyword research

Still unsure about something? Talk to a specialist — no script, no sales pitch.

A prioritised plan: intent-grouped terms, a realistic verdict on each group for your domain, which existing pages already cover them, and the order to publish in. Not a raw export sorted by volume.

No, and research in particular cannot. What we can do is tell you honestly which terms are realistic for your site and which are not, which is the part that usually gets left out.

It is an estimate, from every tool on the market. We use it to compare terms against each other rather than to forecast traffic, and we will not build a projection on numbers that are not measurements.

Yes, separately. The research and the writing are priced apart so you are free to take the plan to your own team — and if you have no capacity to publish against it, that is worth resolving before commissioning the research.

Yes, explicitly, with the reason. Terms we think you cannot win, or that are searched by people who will never buy, are named in the deliverable rather than quietly padding the list.

It helps a great deal and is not essential. Your existing impression data usually reveals the fastest wins on the site — pages already ranking just below where they should be.
