Biography Writing Service
Biography Writing Service
Writing about yourself is uniquely difficult. Most people either undersell everything or list achievements until they sound insufferable.
Starting from
$30
- Written by an in-house team, never subcontracted
- Revisions included until it sounds like you
- Typical turnaround of 2 business days
- No lock-in contract on standard services
The problem
Two ways a bio goes wrong, and they are opposites
The first is the modest version — accurate, complete, and so flat that a reader learns your job title and nothing else. It usually comes from writing your own bio and instinctively trimming anything that felt like boasting.
The second is the opposite: every achievement listed, every adjective load-bearing, and a reader who comes away thinking you are hard work. Both failures come from the same place, which is that nobody can judge their own tone on this particular subject.
A third person writing it solves that, which is most of why the service exists. The material is yours; the calibration is not something you can do from the inside.
What you get
What a bio order includes
Written in the third person by default, first person on request.
- A short interview — the material almost never survives being collected by form
- A long version for your website or About page
- A short version for bylines, directories and speaker listings
- A one-line version for conference programmes and social profiles
- Every claim checked back with you before it goes in
- Revisions until it sounds like you, not a fixed number of rounds

How it works
From interview to finished bio
1. Where it will be used
A bio for a law firm profile, a conference programme and a book jacket are three different pieces of writing. We ask first, because the use decides the length and the register.
2. A short interview
Twenty minutes, usually. The useful material is what you say offhand about how you got here — which is exactly what nobody types into a form.
3. Draft
Typically two business days. You see the long version first, since the shorter ones are cut from it rather than written separately.
4. Your corrections
Facts, emphasis and anything that does not sound like you. This is the round that matters most on a bio and it is rarely the first one.
5. All three lengths
Long, short and one-line, delivered together so you are not rewriting it yourself the next time someone asks for fifty words.
Scope
The bios we are asked for most
Professional and executive bios for company websites, partner and consultant profiles, author bios for books and bylines, speaker bios for conferences, and LinkedIn About sections — which follow different rules, being first-person and read as a pitch rather than a credential list.
We also write team pages, where the difficulty is consistency: fifteen bios written by fifteen people produce fifteen registers, and the page reads as disorganised before anyone notices why.
What we do not do is invent credentials, soften a gap in a history into something it was not, or write a bio for someone we have not spoken to. Bios get fact-checked by the people reading them, and an embellishment is worse than a plain fact.
Pricing
What it costs
Bios start at $30, including the interview and all three lengths. A single professional bio is a small piece of work and it is priced as one.
Team pages are quoted as a set rather than per person, because most of the work is in establishing one consistent register and the marginal cost of each additional bio is much lower.
Tell us who it is for and where it will be used, and you will get a real number.

A short call, yes, and it is the part that makes the difference. What you say in passing about how you ended up doing this is the material a bio is built from, and it almost never survives being collected on a form.
Yes — a long version, a short version and a one-liner, delivered together. Requests for "fifty words for the programme" arrive constantly, and having it ready saves rewriting it yourself each time.
Third person by default, which is the convention for website profiles, bylines and speaker listings. First person on request, and it is the right choice for a LinkedIn About section.
That is the normal first-draft outcome and the reason revisions are included until it does. Tone on a bio is not something anyone gets right without your reaction to a draft.
Yes, and it is usually better done together than one at a time. Fifteen bios written separately produce fifteen registers; written as a set they read as one company.
No. We will find the strongest honest framing of what you have actually done, which is usually better than people expect. Invented credentials get checked by the people reading them.
