The problem

A great idea is about ten per cent of a novel

Most unfinished novels have a strong opening and a clear ending in the author's mind. What goes wrong is the middle: the long stretch where the plot has to keep escalating, subplots have to pay off and characters have to change for reasons the reader believes. That is where drafts sag and authors stop.

Fiction ghostwriting fills that gap. You keep the idea, the characters and the decisions about what happens. We supply the structure, the scene-by-scene plotting and the prose, and we tell you honestly when a twist is guessable or a character's choice does not make sense yet.

Genres

Writing to genre, not just to a word count

Readers choose a genre because they want a particular experience. Breaking its promises by accident is one of the quickest ways to collect poor reviews.

Thriller and mystery

Fair clues, rising stakes and chapters that end on a question. The solution has to surprise the reader and still feel inevitable when they look back.

Romance

The relationship is the plot. Readers expect an emotionally satisfying ending, and the obstacles between the leads need to come from who they are, not coincidence.

Fantasy and science fiction

A world with rules that hold, introduced without pages of explanation. These books often run longer, and series are common, so planning matters early.

Literary and general fiction

Character and voice carry more weight than plot mechanics. The prose itself has to earn the reader's attention.

Historical fiction

Period detail researched and woven into the story, so the past feels lived in without turning scenes into history lessons.

Young adult

Teenage protagonists, an immediate voice and themes that respect readers who notice when they are being talked down to.

Length

How long your novel should be

Publishing guides broadly agree that most adult novels fall somewhere around 70,000 to 100,000 words, with thrillers, mysteries and romance often in the lower part of that range and fantasy and science fiction often longer. These are conventions, not rules, and sources differ. If you plan to query literary agents, staying inside your genre's usual range matters more, because a very long debut is harder to place.

We recommend a target length with the outline, based on your genre, your plot and where you plan to publish. It also sets the quote, since length is the largest single factor in the price.

How it works

Our fiction writing process

1. Order details

Your premise, characters, genre and anything you have written, from a paragraph to half a draft. We discuss the target reader and length.

2. Story outline

A plotted outline with the main turning points, subplots and character arcs, plus character profiles. You approve it before drafting.

3. First draft approval

The opening chapters written in full, so you can judge voice, pace and point of view before the rest of the book is written.

4. Feedback and revisions

The rest of the manuscript in batches for your comments, revised until the brief is met.

5. Editing and cover page

A full edit for continuity, pacing and language, a proofread, and a cover page design.

6. Final review and delivery

The finished manuscript for your final read, with as much time as you need, then delivery and transfer of rights.

Pricing

What fiction ghostwriting costs

Fiction is quoted per project, with its own timeline. Length is the biggest factor, followed by how developed your idea already is, the research the setting needs and whether the book is a standalone or the first of a series. Completing or rewriting a partial draft is quoted on the work it needs rather than as a new book.

You get a fixed price and payment stages tied to delivered chapters. Editing, cover design and publishing support can be added. We do not promise sales rankings or a publishing deal; we promise a complete, well-built novel that is yours to publish however you choose.

Questions

Questions about fiction book writing

Still unsure about something? Talk to a specialist — no script, no sales pitch.

Anything from a single premise to a partial draft works. With only an idea, the outline stage takes longer and we propose more of the plot for you to accept or change. With a detailed plan or draft, we follow it closely. Either way, you approve the outline before writing begins.

Fiction voice is usually the narrator's or the characters', not yours personally, so we agree the voice through the outline discussion and the opening chapters. If you have written some of the book already, we match your existing style so the join does not show.

Yes. Series are planned with a series bible that records the world's rules, timeline, characters and unresolved threads, so later books stay consistent. Each book can be quoted separately, or the series quoted together. Planning the arc of the whole series at the start also lets early books plant details that pay off later.

Yes. We read what you have, give you an honest assessment of what works and what needs changing, then quote for completing it. Sometimes earlier chapters need revising so they set up the ending properly, and we will tell you if so.

You do. All rights, including the characters and world, transfer to you on final payment. The book is published under your name or pen name, and we take no royalties or credit. Sequels, spin-offs, audio and screen adaptations are all yours to pursue without coming back to us.

Both. The finished manuscript is yours to query with agents or to self-publish. We can also help with editing, cover design and self-publishing if you choose that route, but nobody can honestly promise an agent or a deal. What we can do is make sure the manuscript is complete, consistent and as strong as the story allows.
