Book Teaser

Book Teaser Graphics and Pre-Launch Content

Readers rarely buy a book the first time they see it. Teasers give them a reason to notice it several times before launch day: the cover reveal, a line that stays with them, a countdown to the release. We write and design that whole sequence.

  • Copy and design from one in-house team
  • Sized for each platform you post on
  • Lines chosen to intrigue without spoilers
  • Revisions included until the brief is met

The problem

A launch with no build-up starts from zero

Many authors announce a book once, on release day, and wonder why it went quiet. A single post reaches a fraction of your followers and is gone within hours. The authors who launch well have usually been showing the book for weeks: revealing the cover, sharing a sentence or two, posting early reader reactions and counting down to the date, each time with a pre-order link.

The hard part is not the posting, it is having enough good material. Choosing the lines that hook without giving the plot away, matching every graphic to the cover so the book is instantly recognisable, and producing versions for each platform takes time most authors would rather spend writing. That is the part we take on.

What we create

Teaser content we write and design

Cover reveal graphics

A reveal set built around the cover, with the cover itself kept as the focus rather than competing with the design around it. Includes a 3D book mockup if you want one.

Quote and excerpt cards

Short lines from the book set over artwork in your cover's style. We pick the passages with you, favouring voice and intrigue over plot.

Countdown posts

A run of "days to go" graphics leading to launch, each carrying the cover and a pre-order prompt, ready to schedule.

Early reader quotes

Once advance readers or reviewers respond, their words turned into clearly attributed quote graphics for social posts and your retail page.

Email and website teasers

A short pre-launch email sequence for your list and a coming-soon section or banner for your author website with the pre-order link.

Press and media kit

Book summary, author bio, cover and author images and sample questions in one document, so bloggers and hosts can feature the book easily.

Writing teasers

What makes a teaser work

A good teaser line makes sense to someone who knows nothing about the book. Lines that rely on knowing the characters, or that only land after chapter twelve, fall flat on a stranger's feed. We look for sentences that show your voice and raise a question: a strong opening line, a piece of dialogue with tension in it, or for nonfiction, a claim or statistic the reader wants explained.

Genre matters too. A thriller teaser should feel tense and spare; a romance teaser often leans on the relationship and the trope readers are looking for; a business book teaser works best as a sharp, useful idea. The design follows the same rule. Every graphic uses the cover's fonts and colours, so after a few posts readers recognise the book before they read the words.

Avoid spoilers, avoid walls of text, and always include where to pre-order or sign up. A teaser that excites someone but gives them nowhere to go is wasted.

How it works

From manuscript to teaser campaign

1. Brief

Send the manuscript or sample chapters, your cover, launch date and the platforms you use. Tell us anything that must stay secret.

2. Line selection

We shortlist teaser lines and a posting sequence and agree them with you before any design starts.

3. Design

Graphics in each size you need, matched to the cover, plus email and website teaser copy.

4. Schedule and files

Revisions until the brief is met, then the files and a suggested posting calendar running up to launch day.

Pricing

What book teasers cost

Teaser sets are quoted per book. The price depends on how many graphics and sizes you need, whether we select the lines from the manuscript or work from lines you supply, and whether the set includes email copy and a media kit. You get the fixed price before work begins.

If you also want motion, a book video trailer can be produced in the same style so the whole campaign looks like one launch. Teasers build interest; they do not guarantee pre-orders, and we will not claim otherwise.

Questions

Questions about book teasers

Still unsure about something? Talk to a specialist — no script, no sales pitch.

A book teaser is a short piece of promotional content shared before launch to build interest: usually a graphic with a line from the book, the cover or a countdown to release day. Teasers work as a series, so readers see the book several times and have a pre-order or sign-up link each time.

Timelines vary, but many authors reveal the cover weeks or months before launch, share quote and excerpt cards in the weeks after, and run countdown posts in the final days. Tell us your launch date and we will suggest a schedule that fits how often you realistically post.

Not if they are chosen well. We look for lines that show your voice and raise a question without revealing twists, and you approve every line before it is designed. If any part of the story is off limits, tell us in the brief and we will steer clear of it.

No. Teasers here are still graphics and short written content for social media, email and your website. A book trailer is a short video. They work well together, and our video trailer service can be produced in the same visual style so the campaign feels consistent.

Whatever your platforms need, typically square and portrait posts, vertical story sizes and a wide banner for your website or email header, delivered as PNG or JPG. Email teaser copy comes as text you can paste into your newsletter tool, and the media kit as a PDF.
